‘It takes a lot of work and talent to give such an impression of freedom.’ (Jazz Magazine)
Since meeting in 2010, Michèle Pierre and Paul Colomb have been playing together non-stop, and their playful conversations gradually gave rise to the Brady Duo, woven with poetry, elegance and a certain mischief. After a remarkable debut album full of finesse (Plaines, 2020), they drew on science fiction to imagine “La Vie d’après”, a repertoire in the form of a reverie about our possible futures. Each piece corresponds to a fantastical, even utopian scenario… The two cellists have taken a turn towards contemporary music, pushing their instruments to their limits, transforming the stage into a laboratory, and combining a certain pop melancholy with hope and celebration. In “La Vie d’après”, there is room for the body, dance and trance, as if moving forward together on the paths of an uncertain future.
