The 50th Anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s “I want you”
José James describes himself as ‘a jazz singer for the hip-hop generation’. With influences ranging from John Coltrane to Marvin Gaye, he blends jazz, soul, R&B and hip-hop in a unique style. His albums reveal a musician who perfectly combines timelessness and modernism, all cemented by his warm and versatile voice.
For this exceptional creation, José James is accompanied by China Moses, a singer with a radiant stage presence and a deep alto voice, nourished by jazz, soul and Black American Music. Her personal and committed universe dialogues naturally with the legacy of Marvin Gaye. The concert features a complete performance of I Want You, followed by more personal sets, revealing Marvin Gaye’s lasting influence. Much more than a concert, it is a celebration of love, creativity and a timeless musical legacy.
