El Comité

Considered as a real all-star band of Cuban musicians of their generation, El Comité comprises 7 real gems. Starting with the two pianists Harold Lopez-Nussa and Rolando Luna, both winners of the piano solo competition in Montreux. The impressive rhythm section, consisting of Gaston Joya on bass/double bass and Rodney Barreto on drums, carries El Comité’s groove to different shores with precision and talent. Yaroldy Abreu Robles, a great international talent on percussions of all kinds, makes up the third essential mainstay of this incredible rythym section. Last but not least, the brass section: Carlos Sarduy Dimet who, despite his young age, has already performed alongside the greatest names (Chucho Valdés, Los Van Van, Esperanza Spalding, Buika, Richard Bona, Ojos de Brujo…) and whose eclecticism, great skill and inventiveness leads you in all directions with Cuban his island as the original line. And Irving Acao, sax tenor, alto and baritone, also has a very solid career behind him and proves this at each of his performances by permanently adapting to very different realms.
The year 2024 will see the release of El Comité’s second album, “Carrousel”.
