Marcus Miller’s We Want Miles! project promises to be an exciting tribute to one of the most important figures not only in jazz, but in music history in general.
The We Want Miles! project includes selections from the iconic 1981 live recording in Japan as well as classic compositions from Miles’ catalogue spanning the 1950s and 1960s, up to his final period, Tutu in 1986 and Amandla in 1989.
‘We will of course play music from all the important periods of Miles’ career, but I will also use these incredible musicians to take Miles into the future and explore other things that Miles might have enjoyed playing in the future’… Miles was not one to look back; he was always focused on what lay ahead.”
