Mark Priore trio

Mark Priore – piano / Juan Villarroel Encina – double bass / Elie Martin-Charrière – drums

Through this project, Mark Priore’s band share a wonderful declaration of love dedicated to the traditional trio formation (piano, double bass and drums) and to artists who have fascinated and inspired them. Inspired by the baroque style of Handel, with each piece the trio pays tribute to a composer or performer: ranging from Monk to Brubeck, from Alice Coltrane to Oscar Peterson by way of Tom Jobim, Ahmad Jamal or McCoy Tyner. Through original compositions (except for Monk’s piece in solo piano) conceived as so many dedications or allusions to moments of anthology, Mark Priore mixes homage, inspiration, history with his own style and an interpretation by a decidedly modern trio which is led by the complicity and alchemy of the three musicians.
