Daniel Garcia le 19 juillet à la Petite Pinède

Classical and contemporary jazz
Daniel García Diego, piano – choirs/ Reinier Elizarde «El Negrón», double bass/ Michael Olivera or Shayan Fathi, drums

An influential figure of the new generation of Spanish jazz, Daniel Garcia is an eclectic pianist who distills a musical universe at the crossroads of different styles, venturing into electronics, Cuban music, rock and flamenco. Winner of the 2011 Best Jazz Performance Award at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he has accompanied renowned musicians such as Arturo Sandoval, Greg Osby, Antonio Lizana and Dhafer Youssef very recently.
But it is Danilo Pérez, his Panamanian mentor, who encourages him to find his own way by deepening the music of his country of origin. Then comes a mix of music, full of meaning and soul, combining its Hispanic influences with the vocabulary of the jazz trio. With his new album Via de la Plata, he is following his path more than ever, training us at his side, on the «silver thread» that crosses Spain.
