After several successful encounters with Manu Dibango and the recording of a disc with him, the band “Anbessa continues the adventure by presenting on stage the repertoire of Manu Dibango. Repertoire too little known and often reduced to «Soul Makossa». However, Manu Dibango, in 60 years of career, has been one of the most prolific musicians on the planet and one of the best ambassadors of African music.
Composed of the solid rhythm of Akalé Wubé: Loïc Rechard, guitar, Oliver Degabriele, bass and David Georgelet, drums, and soloists Stéphane Montigny, trombone, Olivier Zanot, saxophones and Benoit Lavollée, marimba & vibraphone, Anbessa offers us the opportunity to rediscover the music of the “Old Lion”. A music imbued with jazz and funk, happy and generous, that makes people dance, smile and impress hearts and minds.
